Ancelotti: 'Madrid don't need Lewandowski'

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has played down the rumours that he could make a move to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.

The Poland international has just one year left on his current deal at the Westfalenstadion and has been linked with a number of Europe's elite clubs.

However, Ancelotti insists that Madrid do not need Lewandowski due to the attacking talent already present at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"Lewandowski's a great striker but Cristiano [Ronaldo] is the best striker in the world," Ancelotti told AS.

"And besides, we also have [Karim] Benzema and quality players like [Alvaro] Morata and Jese [Rodriguez]. We have enough strikers, we don't need anyone else."

Lewandowski scored five times in four meetings against Madrid in the Champions League last season.
