Benzema determined to help Madrid win La Liga

Karim Benzema has said that he is determined to help Real Madrid win this season's La Liga title.

The 31-year-old scored his 16th goal of the 2019-20 campaign on Sunday night as Zinedine Zidane's side secured a share of the spoils with Valencia at the Mestalla.

As a result, Los Blancos will enter Wednesday's El Clasico at Camp Nou level on points with Barcelona at the top of the table, while both teams also have a game in hand over the rest of the division.

Madrid have not won La Liga since the 2016-17 campaign, but Benzema has revealed that he will do all he can both on and off the pitch to help the capital giants finish top of the pile.

"I want to win this league title and, if I can help my teammates with play and with words, I will do it. I'm the third captain and I have to help," Marca quotes Benzema as saying.

Madrid will travel to Barca and host Athletic Bilbao before the winter break in Spain begins.
