Ronaldo may boycott Ballon d'Or awards

Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted that he may boycott the Ballon d'Or awards after his falling-out with FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

Blatter was critical of Ronaldo at a recent speech when he offered what he thought were the fundamental differences between the Real Madrid star and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi.

Ronaldo, who is favourite for the Ballon d'Or, has claimed that he may not even attend the ceremony in Zurich in the New Year.

"I will not respond to comments [from Blatter or UEFA president Michel Platini]," Ronaldo told reporters.

"On the day of the Ballon d'Or ceremony, I may be in Spain or in Zurich, or in Madeira."

Bayern Munich president recently claimed that Franck Ribery deserves the prestigious award.
