Report: Cristiano Ronaldo struggling under Rafael Benitez

A report claims that Cristiano Ronaldo is struggling to adapt to new Real Madrid head coach Rafael Benitez.

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly 'uncomfortable' with the training methods and tactics of new Real Madrid boss Rafael Benitez.

The Portuguese international shared a close relationship with former Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti, who lost his job to Benitez in the summer.

According to Marca, Benitez's insistence on Gareth Bale playing in a central area has left Ronaldo dissatisfied with his position in the team.

The 30-year-old struggled to make his mark during Sunday's La Liga opener at Sporting Gijon, while he only scored once during pre-season.

It has also been claimed that Benitez's focus on defensive drills has left Ronaldo feeling isolated.

The Ballon d'Or winner scored 61 goals for Real Madrid last season, which was his best-ever return.
