Pepe to miss out for Real Madrid

Real Madrid defender Pepe will not be fit for Thursday's Spanish Supercopa clash with Barcelona, according to reports.

The 29-year-old picked up the knock in the club's 1-1 draw with Valencia at the weekend as Madrid started their league defence with a home point.

Tests revealed no lasting damage to the Portuguese, but he will not feature this week as he begins his recovery.

Pepe made 45 appearances for Madrid last season.
