Madrid players against Mourinho becoming manager?

Real Madrid players reportedly have little appetite for a change of manager at the club amid rumours of Jose Mourinho replacing Zinedine Zidane.

The 55-year-old, who managed Los Blancos between 2010 and 2013, has been out of work since being sacked by Manchester United in December 2018.

Madrid's mixed start to the season, which has included a 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain and a 1-0 loss to Mallorca, has prompted an emergence of reports suggesting that Mourinho was being lined up as a replacement.

According to AS, Madrid players - especially senior members - do not want to see a return of the Portuguese this season.

There is no appetite for a change of manager in the Bernabeu dressing room following the brief and unsuccessful tenures of Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari last year.

Other reports have claimed that Mourinho is instead holding out to become manager of Tottenham Hotspur, who are struggling under Mauricio Pochettino.
