Madrid chief Perez 'expresses doubt over Zidane'

Zinedine Zidane is reportedly under increasing pressure to keep his job at Real Madrid.

While the Frenchman guided Los Blancos to the La Liga title last season, a Champions League last-16 exit to Manchester City was not well received by club officials.

Real have been far from convincing since the start of the new campaign, recording six wins and three defeats from their 11 matches in all competitions.

According to Sport, president Florentino Perez has expressed doubts over whether Zidane is the right man to lead the club forward.

Sunday's 4-1 defeat at Valencia has left Real four points off the pace in La Liga, while they likely require two victories against Inter Milan, Borussia Monchengladbach and Shakhtar Donetsk to progress through to the Champions League knockout stages.

Zidane has posted 14 defeats from 73 matches since returning to the Bernabeu, just two less than his initial 149-game period in the dugout between 2016 and 2018.
