Paco Jemez: 'Iker Casillas has shut a lot of mouths'

Rayo Vallecano head coach Paco Jemez has claimed that Iker Casillas "shut a lot of mouths" with his impressive display in Real Madrid's victory on Wednesday night.

Casillas has been criticised for his form at both club and international level over the past year, but the Real captain played a key role in clinching a 2-0 win for his side over Rayo and Jemez believes that the veteran has proved his worth again.

"Iker has shut a lot of mouths," he told El Partido."Real hadn't been shot at so many times in a long while and he was the man that stopped us scoring.

"He is still one of the greatest goalkeepers there is and today he has vindicated himself as one of the best.

"Once again, he has shown us just what he is made of."

Carlo Ancelotti's side return to action against Eibar on Saturday.
