France coach Didier Deschamps has challenged young Real Madrid centre-back Rafael Varane to maintain his current standard of play in order to get himself into the French lineup.
Deschamps admitted he is impressed at Varane's "maturity" and that he is technically good on the ball, two traits in particular which have struck him.
"At just 19, Varane shows a maturity well beyond his years," AS quotes Deschamps as saying. "He also shows a great technical ease.
"He must maintain his level of performance for a long period [if he is to play for France]. The level he has set is very high."
Varane has made 19 appearances for Real this season.
