Real Madrid's Gareth Bale picks up injury in home debut warm-up

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale failed to make his home debut this evening after picking up an injury in the pre-match warm-up.

The Wales international was named in the starting lineup for the La Liga clash with Getafe, but bowed out minutes before kickoff with a thigh problem.

Spain international Isco was drafted into the Real first XI as a replacement for Bale, who joined the Spanish giants from Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £85m.

Bale made a goalscoring start to his career in Spain, netting Real's first during the 2-2 draw at Villarreal.

There have been concerns over the 24-year-old's match fitness as he missed out on much of the pre-season training while his transfer to Real was being negotiated.
