Arbeola calms Ronaldo 'sadness'

Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeola has played down concerns over Cristiano Ronaldo's current unhappiness at the Bernabeu.

The Portuguese star recently revealed his 'sadness' with life at Los Blancos, despite leading them to the La Liga title with 46 goals last season.

Reports have suggested that Ronaldo is seeking a move away from Madrid, but teammate Arbeola has claimed that the situation has been blown out of proportion.

"I don't think the comment was so serious. He didn't say that he was depressed or that he was going to throw himself off a tall building", Arbeloa said.

"Being sad is not serious. You can have a low moment, have an argument with someone. There are far more important things that happen in a dressing room than that."

Madrid are apparently willing to sell the 27-year-old for a mammoth £160m fee.
