Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Valencia

Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's La Liga showdown with Valencia.

Real Madrid will be looking for their second La Liga win on the bounce when they host Valencia at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Thursday evening.

Zinedine Zidane's side comfortably saw off Eibar 3-1 last weekend as La Liga returned to action amid the coronavirus pandemic, and Los Blancos currently lie two points adrift of leaders Barcelona as things stand.

Barcelona have the chance to extend that gap to five points as they take on relegation candidates Leganes on Tuesday evening, but Real will certainly not be giving up hope of La Liga glory anytime soon.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real's latest injury and suspension news prior to Thursday night's fixture.

Gareth Bale

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Fatigue
Possible return date: June 18 (vs. Valencia)

Bale came off the bench for the final 30 minutes of Real's victory at the weekend, but the Welshman reportedly had to sit out Monday's training session with muscular fatigue. The forward should be available for the midweek clash with Valencia, albeit from the substitutes bench.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: June 18 (vs. Valencia)

Carvajal was taken off at half-time at the weekend after twisting his ankle, Zidane confirmed. The right-back's injury is not thought to be serious, however, and he could make the starting XI on Thursday.

Lucas Vazquez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Vazquez is the latest Madrid player to be facing a spell on the sidelines, with Los Blancos confirming that the Spaniard has suffered a calf strain after he missed out the clash with Eibar. Real did not give an indication of when Vazquez may be back in the frame, but he is expected to play a part before the season is over.

Luka Jovic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Fractured foot
Possible return date: July 10

Jovic suffered a fractured foot during the lockdown period in May, and Zidane has conceded that he is unsure if the Serbian will be back in action before the season is over. However, the forward may be able to return in the middle of July depending on his recovery time.

Nacho

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: June 29

Nacho suffered a muscular injury in his right thigh upon Real's return to training before the clash with Eibar. The defender is continuing to work on his recovery programme and could be available for selection within the next few weeks.

Mariano Diaz

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Toe
Possible return date: June 19

Mariano is struggling to overcome a toe problem and was not involved in Real's victory at the weekend. The forward's injury is not deemed to be serious and he is said to be making good progress with individual training, so Mariano could be back in the frame in time for Sunday's game against Real Sociedad.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Madrid have no suspension concerns heading into the midweek clash with Valencia.
