Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Rayo Vallecano

Real Madrid injury, suspension list vs. Rayo Vallecano

Real Madrid will be bidding to make it three straight wins in all competitions when they welcome Rayo Vallecano to Bernabeu in La Liga on Sunday night.

Carlo Ancelotti's side came from behind to beat Barcelona in El Clasico last weekend, with Jude Bellingham netting twice in the second half for the capital giants.

Los Blancos are currently top of the La Liga table on 28 points, level on points with second-placed Girona and three ahead of third-placed Atletico Madrid, who have a game in hand.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with a Rayo side that currently sit eighth in the division on 17 points.

Eder Militao

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Militao underwent surgery on the ACL injury that he suffered in the team's season opener, and the defender will be unavailable for selection until at least March.

Thibaut Courtois

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Courtois also underwent an operation on an ACL injury earlier this season, and the club's number one goalkeeper faces a battle to be available before the end of the campaign.

Arda Guler

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: November 5 (vs. Rayo Vallecano)

Guler is back in training after recovering from a thigh injury which occurred after a knee operation, and there is a chance that the Turkey international could be in the squad this weekend.

Dani Ceballos

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: November 5 (vs. Rayo Vallecano)

Ceballos was absent against Sevilla, Braga and Barcelona to a muscular injury which he picked up in training, and the Spaniard remains a major doubt for this match.

Aurelien Tchouameni

Status: Out Type of injury: Foot Possible return date: Unknown

Tchouameni is facing a period on the sidelines "with an incomplete stress fracture in the second metatarsal of the left foot", suffering the injury against Barcelona in El Clasico last time out.

Ferland Mendy

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: November 5 (vs. Rayo Vallecano)

Mendy started El Clasico last time out, but the France international was withdrawn early in the second period, and a slight muscular issue has made him a minor doubt for this contest.
