Gareth Bale delighted with Copa del Rey progression

Gareth Bale has revealed his delight after Real Madrid booked their spot in the final of the Copa del Rey with a 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their semi-final clash.

Two penalties from Cristiano Ronaldo ensured that Los Blancos advanced 5-0 on aggregate, condemning Atletico to three consecutive defeats in all competitions in the process.

"We played a great match. We did very well in the tie overall and deserve to be in the cup final," he told reporters.

"We are doing very well in attack, but we have improved a lot in defence.

"We are playing very well. It is great to see that what we work on in training comes off when we use it in matches and gets us the results."

Bale has scored 11 times for Madrid this season.
