Real Madrid attacker Jese Rodriguez has revealed his delight after Los Blancos put one foot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a 2-0 win at Roma on Wednesday night.
Jese scored Real Madrid's second in the last-16 first leg after Cristiano Ronaldo had sent the Spanish side into the lead just before the hour.
The Spaniard has also paid tribute to head coach Zinedine Zidane, claiming that the Frenchman has 'given the whole team confidence'.
"We knew it was going to be a tough game against an opponent who defend well and put you under pressure too, but the side were really good," Jese told UEFA.com.
"You need to remember Roma are difficult to play against because they're very compact at the back. I know it's tough to get a game in this side because everyone is such a good player.
"I'm happy to have the manager's backing, he is giving us all confidence. He helped me a lot in my first season in the first team and he's a top coach."
Real Madrid have not been beaten in any competition since Zidane replaced Rafael Benitez as head coach last month.
