Real Madrid injury, suspension list and return dates for Arsenal: Eduardo Camavinga, Ferland Mendy latest

Camavinga out, defensive doubts: Real Madrid injury, suspension list vs. Arsenal

It is make-or-break time for Real Madrid on Wednesday evening, when the reigning European champions attempt to pull off the most astounding comeback against Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Carlo Ancelotti's men are on the verge of bowing out thanks to their shock 3-0 loss at the Emirates Stadium last week, where Declan Rice scored two outrageous free kicks before Mikel Merino also got in on the act.

However, the 15-time continental champions now have the Bernabeu factor on their side, and Ancelotti's team survived an early Kylian Mbappe red card to triumph 1-0 over Alaves in Sunday's La Liga showdown.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the team's injury and suspension news ahead of the second leg with Arsenal, who could only draw 1-1 with Brentford in Premier League action at the weekend.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Long-serving right-back Dani Carvajal is on the long road to recovery from a serious knee injury, one that will keep him on the sidelines for the rest of the season.

Eder Militao

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Likewise, the luckless Eder Militao is recuperating from yet another devastating anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture, and the Brazilian is also set to miss the rest of the campaign.

Ferland Mendy

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: April 16 (vs. Arsenal)

Ferland Mendy's muscular problem - which he has been nursing for a month - ruled him out of the win over Alaves, and the tight turnaround also makes him a serious doubt for Wednesday night.

Andriy Lunin

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Calf Possible return date: April 16 (vs. Arsenal)

Similarly, Andriy Lunin is still suffering from a calf issue and is touch-and-go for the second leg, but Thibaut Courtois - who shone at the Emirates - will start in goal regardless.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Eduardo Camavinga

Return date: April 20 (vs. Athletic Bilbao)

While already on a yellow card at the Emirates, Eduardo Camavinga kicked the ball away out of pure frustration, which led to him being given his marching orders and incurring a one-game suspension.

However, Mbappe will be fine to feature, as the red card he received against Alaves has no impact on his European participation.
