Reading sign Danny Guthrie

Premier League newcomers Reading have signed Danny Guthrie on a free transfer after his contract with Newcastle United expired.

The 25-year-old, who spent four years on Tyneside, has signed a three-year contract at the Madejski Stadium.

Guthrie told Reading's official website: "It feels brilliant to have signed. As soon as I met the manager, my mind was made up.

"Reading are a fantastic family club, and I am so excited to be part of something special for this club."

Reading were promoted to the Premier League after they won the Championship last season.
