Reading 1-0 Ipswich Town

Reading have secured their fourth consecutive win in the Championship, beating Ipswich Town 1-0 at the Madejski Stadium this afternoon.

Town forward Emmanuel-Thomas had the best chance of the first half, but watched his shot from distance strike the crossbar to keep the score level at the break.

The hosts were able to take the lead just after the hour when former Sunderland midfielder Grant Leadbitter was adjudged to have handled the ball outside the area.

Reading defender Alex Pearce rose above the rest to find Jobi McAnuff's free kick and buried it into the back of the net from close range to take the lead.
