Jason Roberts says that there is no return date to the Reading first team from his hip injury.

Reading striker Jason Roberts has claimed that he remains in the dark regarding when he will make his first-team comeback from a hip injury.

The 35-year-old has been out of action for the former Championship side since suffering the blow during the Royals' 1-0 defeat to Southampton in December.

"It's going slowly with the hip and there is no real time line on it," Roberts told getreading.co.uk. "I'll keep working on the training ground to get it right.

"It's not cut and dry, that's the nature of the injury. We're working as hard as we can to try and get it right. We've exhausted everything we can to try and make it right. If there is an opportunity of us managing it, then we certainly will do."

Reading currently sit second from bottom in the Premier League table.
