Reading manager Brian McDermott is reportedly ready to offer defender Ian Harte a new deal following the club's promotion to the Premier League.

Next season's Premier League new boys Reading have reportedly planned to hatch out a new contract for defender Ian Harte.

It is believed that the Royals will try to tie down the 34-year-old after the club were promoted to the top flight.

The Irish left-back has been at the Madjeski Stadium for two years following a switch from Carlisle United.

Reading, who have already clinched the Championship title, will play their final game of the season away to Birmingham City on Saturday.
