Steven Naismith, Steven Whittaker reject contract transfer

Steven Naismith and Steven Whittaker have rejected the transfer of their contract to the 'newco' version of Rangers.

The Scottish duo informed the club of their decision via their respective lawyers.

As a result, both are now expected to be free to move on to other clubs without the requirement of a transfer fee.

The pair have joined Sone Aluko, who reportedly made a similar decision yesterday morning.

Several other members of Ally McCoist's squad are expected to inform the club that they will be turning down the transfer of their deals in the near future.
