Sone Aluko turns down contract transfer

Rangers winger Sone Aluko has rejected the transfer of his contract to the 'newco' version of Rangers, according to Sky Sports News.

The Glasgow club will learn on July 4 if they are to be granted a place in next season's Scottish Premier League.

'Club 12' took the final slot in the SPL fixture list and Rangers will only take up this position if they receive an 8-4 majority when the other SPL clubs - including 'oldco' Rangers - vote on their future.

If Aluko has rejected the transfer offer, he will follow young midfielder Rhys McCabe in turning his back on 'newco'.
