A late Neil Alexander own goal denies Rangers their 12th consecutive win as the Scottish Third Division leaders are held to a 1-1 draw at Ibrox by 10-man Elgin City.

A late Neil Alexander own goal denied Rangers their 12th consecutive win as the Scottish Third Division leaders were held to a 1-1 draw at Ibrox by 10-man Elgin City this afternoon.

Things appeared to be going with form when Lewis MacLeod broke the deadlock after just nine minutes.

The visitors' task was then made even more difficult when Paul Harkins was shown a straight red card with three minutes of the first half remaining.

Rangers dominated proceedings after the break, however they were unable to extend their advantage on the scoreboard.

Their poor finishing was ultimately punished three minutes from time when Alexander put through his own net to send the majority of the 46,406 crowd home disappointed.
