All square between Racing de Santander, Almeria

Racing de Santander have played out a 1-1 draw with Almeria at home in the first leg of their Copa del Rey last-16 tie.

It was visitors Almeria who took the lead at El Sardinero on 26 minutes when Miguel Angel Corona found the target with a good finish.

The visitors thought that they had made it 2-0 at the start of the second half when Raul Garcia headed home Jonathan's cross, but the goal was disallowed as the ball had already gone out of play.

However, Racing did restore parity on 64 minutes through David Concha, who latched on to a through-ball and lifted it over Oscar Ustari.

Almeria finished the contest with 10 man as Jonathan was sent off with eight minutes remaining on the clock.
