Paris Saint-Germain announce the signing of South Korean attacker Lee Kang-in from Mallorca on a five-year contract.

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed the arrival of South Korean attacker Lee Kang-in from Mallorca on a five-year contract.

The 22-year-old joins until the summer of 2028 for a reported €22m (£18.8m), and he becomes the Ligue 1 champions' fourth new signing of the current window.

Lee follows Milan Skriniar, Marco Asensio and Manuel Ugarte to the Parc des Princes and departs Mallorca following a successful two-year spell with the Spanish club.

"It's incredible to be able to join Paris Saint-Germain, it's one of the biggest clubs in the world, with some of the greatest players in the world, said Lee Kang-In. I can't wait to start this new adventure," Lee told PSG's media channels.

"I have known Paris Saint-Germain since I was small. They are one of the best teams in the world. I have also been following the French league for a long time too. It's a very competitive league, which boasts a lot of very talented players.

"My position on the pitch can vary, I am a midfielder that is capable of playing on both wings. I'm a skilful player who's comfortable on the ball. I've got a lot of desire and a thirst to win. I'm here to help the team as a whole, with the aim of helping the team to win.

"My objective is always to help the team as much as possible, to help the club to win every match and as many titles as possible."

The South Korea international left his homeland in 2011 to join the Valencia academy, and he spent 10 years on the books with Los Che, progressing through the ranks to score three goals and set up four more in 62 matches, winning the Copa del Rey in 2019.

Lee ran down his contract at Valencia to join Mallorca on a free transfer in 2021, and after a mediocre debut campaign, the 22-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough year in the 2022-23 season.

Lee came up with six goals and seven assists in 36 La Liga games for Mallorca last term, mainly featuring as a left winger but also starting as an attacking midfielder, second striker, right winger and centre forward.

The versatile attacker departs Mallorca with a total of seven goals and 10 assists from 73 games for the club, while he made waves for South Korea's youth teams before making the step-up to senior international football.

While representing the Under-20s, Lee won the Golden Ball as the best player at the 2019 Under-20 World Cup, scoring two goals and providing four assists as South Korea finished as runners-up to Ukraine.

Since making his senior international debut in 2019, the 22-year-old has set up two goals in 14 matches for South Korea, playing all four of their games at the 2022 World Cup and providing an assist in a 3-2 group-stage defeat to Ghana.

Following Kang's arrival, PSG are expected to intensify their efforts to sign Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez, as well as wrapping up a deal for former Benfica product Cher Ndour.
