Report: Paris Saint-Germain to bid for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane

Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a move for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, according to reports.

The 22-year-old recently admitted that he rejected a move to PSG in 2011 but the Ligue 1 champions could be set to test Real Madrid's resolve in January.

French sources claim that Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in the player, but would be unable to match any bid that PSG make.

Varane signed for Real Madrid from Lens in 2011 and has made 129 appearances for the club.

The France international kept the PSG attack at bay when the sides met in the Champions League last Wednesday.
