Agent: 'Maxwell close to new Paris Saint-Germain deal'

Brazilian defender Maxwell is close to signing a new one-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain, according to his agent.

The 33-year-old's current deal expires this summer, but his form for the French champions has led to talk of a new contract.

According to agent Mino Raiola, terms have been agreed and the full-back will soon sign on the dotted line.

"We have reached an agreement for another season, until 2016," Maxwell's representative told Le Parisien. "All we need to do is confirm the agreement in writing."

Maxwell joined PSG from Barcelona in 2012.
