Zlatan Ibrahimovic brace enough to see off Nantes

Zlatan Ibrahimovic finds the net twice as Paris Saint-Germain see off Nantes in the French capital to climb back to the top of the Ligue 1 table.

Goals either side of half time from Zlatan Ibrahimovic proved enough to give Paris Saint-Germain a 2-1 victory at home to Nantes and move them to the top of the table.

The visitors wasted no time making a statement of intent, taking the lead in the eighth minute as Alejandro Bedoya fired an effort into the top corner from outside the area.

PSG dominated possession throughout the opening stages, but created nothing in front of goal and were left frustrated by some tenacious defending from Nantes.

Their first attack of any note came just after the half-hour mark when Adrien Rabiot was picked out by Javier Pastore in the danger zone, allowing him to get a shot off, but it flew narrowly wide of the target.

The French champions continued to up the pressure, and drew themselves level following a swift counter-attack in the 34th minute.

Lucas threaded a pass through to Ibrahimovic in the box, and the veteran striker guided an effort into the bottom corner.

Laurent Blanc's side pushed for a second before the half-time whistle, coming closest when Thiago Silva's header forced a good save from Remy Riou.

PSG started the second period in the same fashion that they ended the first, and they edged their noses in front for the first time in the match in the 48th minute when Ibrahimovic rifled a free kick beyond a stranded Riou.

The hosts remained on top for the duration of the game, but it was not all one-way traffic, with Lucas Deaux's effort from the edge of the box in the 76th minute needing a confident stop from PSG goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu.

The result leaves PSG two points ahead of Marseille at the top of Ligue 1, but Les Olympiens can climb back to the summit if they defeat Metz on Sunday.
