Paris Saint-Germain stadium could be demolished

Paris Saint-Germain's Parc des Princes stadium could face demolition under the club's Qatari owners, according to former majority shareholder Sebastien Bazin.

Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) completed their takeover of the French club earlier this month when they bought Bazin's remaining 30 percent stake, and the Frenchman has revealed that they are considering any option that would increase the capacity of PSG's ground.

"We have a very clear agreement with (construction company) Vinci and PSG to study all possibilities regarding the Parc des Princes site and to find the most compatible solution for QSI," Bazin told Le Parisien.

"Nothing is taboo. Demolishing the ground is an option. But is it something we would recommend? That is the major issue. The only option that I refuse to entertain is that of moving PSG to the Stade de France.

"I think that the Qataris will stay at the Parc des Princes, [but] when we sold the club, they gave us no assurances about staying at the Parc des Princes."

Parc des Princes has been the home of PSG since they moved there in 1973.
