Jurgen Klopp 'turns down PSG approach'

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reportedly rejected an approach from Paris Saint-Germain to become the French club's new head coach.

Klopp has been in charge of the Reds since October 2015 and led the club to the 2018-19 Champions League title in addition to running Manchester City close in the Premier League.

The Merseyside giants look set to end their long wait for a league title this season as they sit 10 points clear at the top of the table with two games in hand over second-placed Leicester City ahead of Sunday's home game with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to le10sport, PSG sporting director Leonardo held a meeting with Klopp before Christmas to discuss the possibility of the German replacing Thomas Tuchel at the club.

However, the report claims that the 52-year-old made it clear to the capital giants that he did not want to leave Anfield.

Klopp only signed a new contract extension with the Merseyside team earlier this month, and the former Borussia Dortmund manager's fresh deal will run until the summer of 2024.
