Carlo Ancelotti: Mamadou Sakho "will be rested" against Bastia

Carlo Ancelotti says that Mamadou Sakho will be rested at the weekend as he played a full 90 minutes for France.

Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he will rest centre-back Mamadou Sakho after he played 90 minutes in France's 2-1 friendly defeat to Germany.

Ancelotti said that instead of Sakho, Alex will play at centre-back alongside either Sylvain Armand or Zoumana Camara with Thiago Silva still sidelined.

"Sakho will be rested this weekend," Ligue1.com quotes him as saying. "Alex is back at centre-half and he'll play alongside Armand or Camara.

"It was difficult to work this week as we only got our full squad back together again on Thursday. It's a very important match for us because we'll be able to put pressure on second-placed Lyon.

"We need to be ready both mentally and physically. The players who were with us all week will be favoured for the game."

PSG are three points ahead of Lyon in the table.
