Well, there you have it, PSG run riot in the second half to hammer their opponents. They have extended their lead to five points at the top of Ligue 1 in style.

Lucas wins a corner for PSG, and it's played short as they keep the ball instead of sending it in. They seem to have declared on five.

Well, there we have it, the first Nantes shot on goal. It's the first time, I believe, that Sirigu has touched with his gloves. He may as well have been in the crowd this evening the goalkeeper.

CHANCE! Cavani toe-pokes an effort on goal from the edge of the box but Riou gathers easily enough.

PSG are comfortably knocking it about, free of any pressure from Nantes. No pressing at all, they looked sapped of energy.

Lucas escapes round the back and tries a cut back to Ibrahimovic, but Djilobodji reads it well and intercepts.

Bangoura is involved in a bit of nonsense with Thiago Silva. Not sure what their issue is, but it's a storm in a teacup.

Matuidi shakes off two challenges to deliver a low cross but Riou gathers it. The goalkeeper has had a decent evening despite the scoreline.

Ibrahimovic volleys away a Nantes corner. A real waste from the visitors, but at this point, it's pretty irrelevant.

It's showboating time for the home side as Maxwell passes to Matuidi with a totally unnecessary yet flashy looking back-hell out wide. I fancy PSG to add another goal to their tally before the night's over.

CHANCE! It's dreadful from Cavani as he stirkes a left-footed effort so bad that it was going out for throw in before Lucas kept it in play.

PSG are heading for their 23rd unbeaten game at home here. Eighteen wins and five draws in that time.

SUBSTITUTION Marquinhos comes on for Thiago Motta. Looks like the 19-year-old will sit in midfielder for the remainder of the game.

Nantes have been as poor of course, but PSG have smelled blood this half and they have really put their opponents to the sword.

The second half has been a total evisceration of the visitors from the Ligue 1 leaders. They have looked every inch the European heavyweights that they have become over the last few years.

Pastore's first touch is denied a goal by a great sliding tackle but Ibrahimovic rifles home with his left foot to score his 17th of the season. PSG are running amok.

SUBSTITUTION: Javier Pastore comes on for Verratti, who was on a yellow.

CHANCE! Thiago Motta hits a 25-yarder just wide of the post. He struck that really well. So close.

The PSG fans are certainly enjoying their evening. Every pass is greeted with loud cheers. This could become a cricket score.

Well, what do I know? Cavani taps in after Ibrahimovic cuts it across the six-yard box. The Uruguayan is unlikely to score an easier goal this season. PSG are running riot.

Cavani has been willing this evening, but he hasn't enjoyed his best night. He's just ran at the Nantes defence and overran it out for a goal kick. He was disappointed with himself there.

Lucas tries an ambitious volley from Maxwell's raking pass. He gets it all wrong and it flies out for a goal kick.

I said there could be more goals in this and it hasn't taken long has it? Nice finish from Motta but he had the freedom of the penalty area, where was the marking?

Well that's surely game over. Van der Wiel crosses to Matuidi the midfielder heads back across goal and Motta volleys home for PSG's third.

CHANCE! Van der Wiel crosses for Ibrahimovic and the Sweden international is thwarted by Riou. Decent stop from the keeper.

Wonderful football from PSG, they work it around the Nantes players who are stood like statues on the halfway line. It's not really an attack, but it was a joy to behold for the few seconds before Thiago Motta won a throw in.

The Brazilian is straight into the thick of things as he runs at the Nantes defence before being bundles over. No foul though...

Paris Saint-Germain in the focus of our attention here though, and I can only see PSG adding to their lead this half. I predicted 2-0 at the beginning, but surely there's more to come?

UPDATE: The big game in the Premier League saw Chelsea ease past Manchester United 3-1 at Stamford Bridge, while Swansea City were beaten by the same scoreline at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

UPDATE Clarence Seedorf's AC Milan are currently being held to a goalless draw with Hellas Verona in Serie A. The Dutchman, taking charge of his first game at San Siro following his retirement this week, has named an attacking lineup for that game.

UPDATE: Atletico Madrid are heading for the top of La Liga with their 1-0 lead over Sevilla at half time. David Villa's 18th-minute strike has given Los Rojiblancos the lead in that game.

Moving away from this game for a moment or two, let's have a look at the scores elsewhere around Europe...

Of course, the problem for Nantes is if they come out more, they risk shipping further goals, and with the firepower PSG have it could easily end up four or five here for Laurent Blanc's side. That's the risk they must take though if they have any genuine hopes to rescue a point.

Nantes have offered nothing going forward, and have given away two really soft goals. The Ligue 1 leaders have had the lion's share of possession, and the game has been played with a tempo of a pre-season game. Surely the visitors will have to do something else this coming half?

Well, PSG are unlikely to play a less challenging half of football this season. They have been totally dominant, but haven't had to get out of first gear.

CHANCE! Verratti lofts a cross to the back post and Ibrahimovic leaves it for Lavezzi and he smashes it into the side netting with a volley. Should have been their third.

CHANCE! Cavani side-foots it straight back to Lavezzi by mistake after the Argentina star crossed for his teammate inside the area.

Thiago Silva's is rock solid as he meets the corner to send it out for a throw in. Great defending from what was a good delivery from Djilobodji.

Corner to Nantes here, a goal now would liven this game up...

Well judging from Nantes' first-half display, you would have to say this is game over already. It's all too easy for the home side.

Nantes with their first attempt as Lucas Deaux smashes it into the side netting after a positive run into the area.

BOOKING: Verratti goes in the book.

Well coach Der Zakarian will be furious. His side have defended ably for most of the game but it's another lapse in concentration and it has cost them dear. A slack back-pass was seized on by Verratti and he was fouled in the area by Alhadhur. Ibrahimovic took the spot-kick and dispatched it with aplomb.

Good defending from Nantes as PSG try several avenues around the box. None are on though and Ibrahimovic eventually sends it back to Alex to start again.

A little better from Nantes, they get men forward and work it wide to Cissokho, but he can't keep it in play as he tries to cross it. At least it is something from the visitors.

Bedoya comes on for the stricken Veretout. Can the American inspire something different from his side?

The Nantes man is currently on a stretcher. It was a tangle with Thiago Silva. There didn't look much in it, but he's gone off regardless.

Lovely play from Thiago Motta as he slips it through Veretout's legs on the halfway line. His through ball is cut out though. Veretout is currently down injured. Not quite sure what happened there, but he may not be able to continue.

Motta and Ibrahimovic exchange a slick series of passes but the final one is overhit and the ball goes out for a goal kick. Nice move until the killer pass.

Ibrahimovic bamboozles a Nantes defender, before Van der Wiel again crosses. This time Rious punches to safety.

PSG have only had once chance this evening, but that's all they have needed. If the pattern stays the same they will have done enough. The visitors are going to have to show something else if they want to leave without defeat.

Nantes have shown virtually nothing going forward. It's attack vs. defence at the moment.

Verratti gives a marker the slip on the edge of his own box to the delight of the crowd. The Italian carries it 30 yards before giving it to Ibrahimovic. Strangely the Sweden international gives it away.

It's that pattern again, Ibrahimovic lays Van der Wiel in wide right and he centres a low cross. That a certainly part of their attacking arsenal this evening. Sooner or later the Netherland international will find a teammate.

Nantes have settled back into their routine and PSG are playing all the football in front of their opponents. This will only infuriate Der Zakarian more for the manner in which they conceded.

Ibrahimovic, as he sometimes likes to do, has dropped into almost a holding midfield role. That allows Matuidi to make the run beyond Lavezzi and Cavani though. We'll keep an eye on that particular tactic this evening.

How will Nantes respond? The goal was so easy for the home side and coach Der Zakarian must be furious that his team were opened up so easily after 10 mins of fairly good defensive work.

It's a simple goal. Cavani wins a flick on from the corner Riou palms into Thiago Silva and the PSG captain taps in for his third goal of the season.

It's a dreadful pass by Cavani on the half-way line, and Nantes come away with it, but they haven't got the numbers forward to make the most of the counter. PSG regain it and win a corner through Lavezzi.

Nantes with their first forward move and Gakpe tries to dribble into the area, but the move breaks down as two PSG defenders snuff him out.

Ibrahimovic drops deeps to get his first touch and sends Van der Wiel through wide right. The Dutchman's cross is again cut out. Better from the home side though.

Still not a lot happening. PSG are keeping the ball and Nantes are happy to let them. The visitors have seen virtually nothing of the ball.

Nantes are content to let PSG have the ball. They're getting men behind the ball as Van der Wiel sends a low cross into the area that is gathered by Riou.

KICKOFF And here we go...

The teams re running through their pre-match formalities. Thiago Silva leads the handshakes for PSG.

The two teams are in the tunnel at the moment, not long now until we're underway.

PREDICTION: It's hard to look past the home side isn't it? The league leaders are expected to dominate and I think they will do just that. I fancy them to ease past Nantes 2-0.

We're about five minutes or so away from kick off at Parc des Princes, so it's time to get a prediction...

Earlier this afternoon, Lyon beat Reims 2-0, while Monaco also beat Tolouse by the same scoreline to keep the pressure on at the top of Ligue 1.

PSG beat Bordeaux 3-1 in midweek in the Coupe de France to set up a semi-final tie with tonight's opponents. That will be contested next month.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, PSG have the two top scorers in the division in their side and Ibrahimovic and Cavani will be looking to add to their respective tallies of 15 and 12 this evening.

The hosts are in great form and head into tonight's game with seven wins in their last 10, while the visitors have lost two of their last three but beat Lorient 1-0 in their last game.

He told reporters: "We play Paris and, even though they have huge options, everything is possible in football.

"The team must believe it. I have a hunch, I sense that we are going to be centre-stage across France.

"We will be in a fight, but in a game, everything is possible. With this state of mind on display, I sense we can do well."

Despite the daunting task facing his side this evening, Nantes coach Michel Der Zakarian has called for his players to show belief that they can match the oil-rich superstars in the French capital.

It's always a pleasure to watch PSG, and hopefully tonight will be no different. The stars are certainly out, and the likes of Cavani, Verratti and Lavezzi will provide an attacking thrust, but it is Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is very much the main man as Parc des Princes.
