How Paris Saint-Germain could line up against Rennes

Sports Mole looks at how Paris Saint-Germain could line up in Sunday's Ligue 1 clash with Rennes.

Paris Saint-Germain will be looking for their 18th Ligue 1 victory of the season when they welcome Rennes to the French capital on Sunday night.

PSG have won 17 and drawn two of their 19 league matches this season to open up a 13-point advantage at the summit, even with two games in hand over the teams around them.

Thomas Tuchel's team will also enter this weekend's match off the back of a 2-0 win over Strasbourg in the Coupe de France on Wednesday night.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how the French champions could line up when they take to the field against Rennes at Parc des Princes.

POSS PSG XI vs. REN

Out: Lassana Diarra (knee), Marco Verratti (ankle), Neymar (foot)

Neymar is facing an extended period on the sidelines, with the Brazilian picking up a foot injury during PSG's win over Strasbourg on Wednesday night, which makes him a doubt for the club's upcoming Champions League last-16 clash with Manchester United.

Lassana Diarra and Marco Verratti will also miss out with knee and ankle injuries respectively, meaning that Tuchel's options in midfield are limited.

Dani Alves has played in midfield since his return from injury and that is again expected to be the case this weekend, with Julian Draxler and Thomas Meunier also earning starts.

Neymar's absence means that Angel di Maria should start in the final third alongside Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe, although 19-year-old attacker Moussa Diaby will also be hoping for a spot in the XI.

Adrien Rabiot is again not under consideration as the Frenchman - strongly linked with a move to the Premier League - prepares to leave the club this month.
