Half-Time Report: Paul Gallagher gives Preston North End the lead

Paul Gallagher's goal has given Preston North End a 1-0 lead going into half time of their FA Cup fourth-round clash with Sheffield United this afternoon.

Preston made a lively start to the game and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake had a snap shot which deflected behind for a corner.

A mistake in the Sheffield United backline then set Gallagher free but he was adjudged to be offside.

The Scot did not dwell on the missed chance, however, and scored with a free kick that nestled into the bottom corner of the net from 30 yards out.
