Rafael Benitez: 'Napoli can still reach quarter-finals'

Napoli manager Rafael Benitez remains upbeat following his side's loss to Porto.

Napoli boss Rafael Benitez has insisted that his side can still reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League despite losing the first leg of their last-16 clash with Porto 1-0.

Jackson Martinez scored the only goal of the game in Portugal, but the Spaniard believes that his team is capable of winning the second leg 2-0 with home advantage on their side.

"One-nil is a bad result for us, but we can win 2-0 at the San Paolo," he told Sky Sports News. "Our idea was to do well defensively and start creating dangers as well.

"We did not do this at first but in the second half we were able to do it and we could have scored a goal. I saw a couple of situations in the first half when we had to be more precise and do damage.

"Playing the second leg at our home stadium can make a difference, but Porto are strong in attack which can make the difference, too. It will be difficult, but we can do it."

Porto travel to Italy for the second leg on March 20.
