Port Vale manager Micky Adams has backed left-sided player Colin Daniel to be a "great asset" after he joined the club from Mansfield Town.
Daniel has penned a two-year deal at the League One outfit, and Adams has revealed that he saw off a number of clubs to complete the signing of the 26-year-old.
Adams is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "Lots of clubs were interested in him. We've highlighted him and tracked him all season, and we're sure that he'll be a great asset."
The former Crewe Alexandra and Macclesfield Town player scored three times in 32 appearances for Mansfield during the last campaign.
