Seedorf in contention for Oldham job?

Oldham Athletic have reportedly spoken to Clarence Seedorf over the club's vacant managerial position.

Earlier this week, Oldham announced that they had parted company with John Sheridan, with Richie Wellens being placed in charge for the foreseeable future.

However, according to BBC Sport, the League One side are contemplating whether to offer the role to former AC Milan boss Seedorf in what would be regarded as a stunning coup for the club.

It has been claimed that discussions over the job were held on Thursday, with Seedorf having already had a tour of the facilities at Boundary Park.

The Dutchman won 11 of his 22 games at San Siro between January and June in 2014, while the legendary midfielder also had a 14-match spell in China League One with Shenzhen FC last year.

Oldham currently sit in 23rd position in the third-tier standings.
