Callum McGregor scores as Notts County overcome Fleetwood Town

Notts County have beaten Fleetwood Town 3-1 in their Capital One Cup first-round clash at Meadow Hall.

Gareth Evans gave the League Two side the lead after 15 minutes, but Enoch Showunmi drew the Magpies level just before the half-hour mark.

Danny Haynes then fired the hosts into the lead five minutes before the break.

Callum McGregor bagged a goal on his first start since joining on a six-month loan from Celtic, but County had to play the final eight minutes with 10 men when Emmanuele Smith received a second booking for a foul on David Ball.

Ball then ensured a nervy finish when he popped up with three minutes to go, but Chris Kiwomya's men hung on for victory.
