Hasselbaink joins Forest as first-team coach

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been confirmed as first-team coach of Nottingham Forest.

The 39-year-old played under Forest manager Steve McClaren at Middlesbrough and was also part of the former England boss's coaching staff at Dutch side FC Twente.

The club are also on the verge of finalising a playing deal for another of McLaren's former Boro' players, George Boateng.

The 35-year-old will complete a move to the City Ground from Greek side Skoda Xanthi, subject to a medical.

The club have previously signed Jonathan Greening from Fulham and extended the contract of Guy Moussi.
