Nottingham Forest chief executive Paul Faulkner resigns?

Nottingham Forest chief executive Paul Faulkner resigns from his position at the club, according to a report.

Nottingham Forest chief executive Paul Faulkner has reportedly resigned from his position at the club, less than a day after Stuart Pearce's reign as manager came to an end.

Pearce was relieved of his duties on Sunday by Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi, who quickly moved to bring in former Crystal Palace and Bolton Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman as his successor.

Faulkner, who had previously been chief executive at Aston Villa, had only been in his role at Forest for five months.

According to the Nottingham Post, Faulkner feels that he can no longer continue in the job after the events of Sunday evening and has now handed in his resignation.

Pearce lost his job after a run of three wins from 23 matches, which saw the Reds slip to 12th in the Championship.
