Nottingham Forest midfielder Kieran Dowell suffers knock on England U21s duty?

Kieran Dowell reportedly returns to Nottingham Forest earlier than planned, having picked up an injury on England Under-21s duty.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Kieran Dowell has emerged as a fitness doubt for the club's Championship fixture with Millwall.

Dowell has spent the last week on duty with England Under-21s, and started during the friendly international against Romania Under-21s on Saturday night.

However, the 20-year-old does not feature in the squad to face Ukraine Under-21s on Tuesday night and according to the Nottingham Post, the playmaker has returned to the City Ground.

The report says that the Everton loanee has sustained "a minor knock" and may be forced to sit out the meeting with the Lions on Good Friday.

Dowell has enjoyed a fine campaign in the East Midlands, with nine goals and four assists coming from 37 outings at the second tier.
