Chris Hughton bemoans lack of Norwich City composure

Chris Hughton is critical of his side's poor composure after Norwich City's 2-0 loss away at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has admitted that his side's inability to keep possession was a major factor in their 2-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur.

Gylfi Sigurdsson scored twice as Spurs cruised to victory at White Hart Lane, and Hughton was left frustrated as his side continually gave the ball away.

"I think in what was a very tough first half for us, we gave the ball away too cheaply," Hughton told the club's official website after the game.

"We needed to have better options, and overall we found it tough going today. We came up against a very strong Tottenham team today, but we needed to have better periods of possession ourselves.

"When you do have the ball, you need to work it up the pitch, but I just thought we gave it away on too many occasions."

Hughton spent 13 years as a player at White Hart Lane between 1977 and 1990 and returned to the club as an assistant manager in 1998. He fulfilled this role for 10 years before leaving to become Newcastle United manager.
