Robert Snodgrass taken to hospital

Norwich boss Chris Hughton reveals that winger Robert Snodgrass is being attended to at a local hospital after being knocked out in their League Cup loss to Manchester United.

Norwich City midfielder Robert Snodgrass has been taken to hospital after being knocked out during their Capital One Cup defeat to Manchester United, his manager Chris Hughton has revealed.

The Scotland international clashed heads with Red Devils full-back Rafael in the second half of Norwich's 4-0 loss at Old Trafford, with play stopped for eight minutes while he received treatment.

He was stretchered off and later driven to a local medical facility, but Hughton is confident that no serious damage has been done, and indicated that a potential overnight stay would just be a precaution.

"He's gone to a local hospital," Hughton told reporters. "I think that is very much a precaution, he was out for a period of time. It is very much concussion.

"He has also taken a whack in the incident itself so they will have a look at that and X-ray that just to make sure there is nothing broken.

"But by the time he was on his way out he was awake and aware of what was happening around him. Whether he will he kept in overnight or not, I don't know."

Javier Hernandez scored twice, including an early penalty which Hughton felt was unfairly awarded when 18-year-old United winger Adnan Januzaj went down under the challenge of Leroy Fer.
