What is at stake for Norway and France?

Not only is preserving their perfect record on the line for both Norway and France, but they will also battle for top spot in Group I and, in theory, a more favourable route in the knockout rounds.

France currently occupy first position ahead of Norway in second on goal difference, and a draw would be enough for Les Bleus to remain at the summit.

As for the Scandinavians, they need to claim their first win over France since a 2-1 friendly triumph in August 2010 in order to leapfrog them to the top of Group E.

All eyes will undoubtedly be on both Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, who have scored four goals each across their opening two group games, the latter of whom has 16 World Cup goals overall and is just two behind Lionel Messi at the top of the tournament’s all-time scoring charts.
