Kyle Lafferty withdraws from Northern Ireland qualifier with Achilles injury

Kyle Lafferty will play no part in Northern Ireland's World Cup qualifier against Russia due to an Achilles injury.

The 25-year-old has been forced to pull out of tomorrow night's encounter due to the injury, placing Michael O'Neill's side at a disadvantage ahead of the clash.

The match was originally due to be played in March, but heavy snow caused the fixture to be cancelled twice.

The Irish side are yet to win a game in their World Cup qualifying campaign.
