Nigeria defender Elderson Echiejile has been ruled out of the World Cup with a hamstring injury.
The 26-year-old suffered the problem last week during his side's goalless draw with Greece in Philadelphia.
Echiejile is likely to be out of action for around three weeks while he recovers.
Midfielder Ejike Uzoenyi is expected to be named as Echiejile's replacement ahead of the team's opener against Iran next Monday.
