Saturday's Ligue 1 predictions including Nice vs. Lens

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Nice vs. Lens.

Nice welcome Lens to the Allianz Riviera in Ligue 1 on Saturday just days after being stunned in the Coupe de France in midweek.

Home manager Franck Haise will face off against his former club here, desperate to make amends for their shock defeat on Wednesday against fourth-tier opposition.

We say: Nice 0-0 Lens

In a clash against one of Ligue 1's strongest home teams and best-performing away teams, there is very little between these two sides ahead of this one.

One point and one place is all that separates them in the league table too, and after drawing 0-0 in the reverse fixture, a repeat would not be a surprise.

Lille vs. Le Havre (Saturday, 6.00pm)

Lille return to the Stade Pierre-Mauroy to face Le Havre in Ligue 1 on Saturday, just days after a surreal defeat in the Coupe de France in midweek.

Bruno Genesio's side somehow conspired to lose to second-tier Dunkerque despite having more than one foot in the quarter-finals on two occasions, leaving the Mauroy utterly aghast.

We say: Lille 4-0 Le Havre

The home fans will hope the shellshock of Tuesday night's defeat will have worn off in time for this one, where Lille will be big favourites to bolster their top-four push, against the relegation candidates.

Le Havre have taken more points away from home (eight) than they have managed at home this season (six), but at a venue where they barely manage to score a goal, never mind record a victory, this could be a long evening for the basement boys.

St Etienne vs. Rennes (Saturday, 8.05pm)

Big-spenders Rennes travel to the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard to face Saint-Etienne in Ligue 1 on Saturday night.

Only Manchester City spent more in January than the relegation-threatened club, and this fixture could see them hand out debuts to a number of players.

We say: Saint-Etienne 0-1 Rennes

After a win last weekend, adding more talent to the squad should provide results for a club who have taken a huge gamble in the transfer market, and Rennes will enter this fixture as slight favourites, despite their horrendous away form.

Saint-Etienne know they can move back out of the bottom three with victory here, and it would also mark their 50th win over Rennes, but they have failed to pick up three points in any of their last eight Ligue 1 home games against their upcoming opponents, last winning in 2012.
