Newcastle 'to offload Steve Harper after 20 years'

Newcastle United goalkeeper Steve Harper will reportedly leave the club after 20 years with the Magpies.

The 38-year-old, who moved to St James' Park in 1993 from local outfit Seaham Red Star, has recently played second fiddle to Tim Krul.

It is understood that the North-East club have informed Harper that he will not be offered a new contract in the summer, according to ITV Sport.

Harper has racked up 197 appearances for the Magpies.
