Moussa Sissoko is poised to become Newcastle's latest French signing after he reportedly flew into England to undergo a medical ahead of his imminent transfer.

Newcastle United look to have won the race for Moussa Sissoko, with reports suggesting that the Toulouse midfielder could sign for the Magpies tomorrow.

Aston Villa and Sunderland had also been credited with interest in the 23-year-old, but Sissoko is apparently keen to link up with his French compatriots at St James' Park.

Mathieu Debuchy and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa have already moved to Tyneside from Ligue 1 this window and Nancy defender Massadio Haidara is poised to follow suit.

According to the Daily Mail, Sissoko will join them at Newcastle after flying in for a medical on Tuesday ahead of his imminent transfer.

Yohan Cabaye, Sylvain Marveaux and Hatem Ben Arfa are among the other Frenchman currently in Alan Pardew's squad.
