Porto launch bid for Aleksandar Mitrovic?

Newcastle United face competition for Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrovic from Porto, according to reports.

The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Magpies, though Steve McClaren recently admitted that the club were 'no closer' to signing a striker.

However, Porto have now emerged as contenders for Mitrovic's signature after lodging a £12.5m bid, according to the Daily Star.

The Serbian international, who joined Anderlecht from Partizan in 2013, scored 23 goals in the Belgian Pro League last season.
